Help Support me in Relay for life 2009!

I am really hoping to raise $200 with Relay for life to help find a cure for cancer. Relay for life is on April 17th, and I know it is short notice but making this goal is extremely important for me! ADPI has raised the most money for Relay For Life the past three years and have also raised over $40,000. Lets make this year just as great and we can make a difference in finding a cure!

Please visit my personal page to see why I participate and see how far along I am in reaching my goal:

Did you participate in earth hour?

I was outside at 8:26 for our bus that leaves at 8:30 AND IT WAS ALREADY GONE! That is just ridiculous considering they say they will leave at exactly 8:30. This is the second week in a row this has happened (granted last week was my mistake) but still! I would rather be at school, then be awake & dressed for school this early and have missed the bus. SO AGGREVATING!

Anyways that was just my little rant for the morning, haha. This Post will actually be about Rugby,Beach Walks & just an overall Relaxing weekend. :)

On Friday my entire orientation group from Butler (which is the study abroad program I am on) all went to a Rugby game together. It was definitely interesting and took me a little while to figure out how it works. There are two parts which are each 40 minutes long. The game goes by really fast because they do not stop to reassemble the lines like they do in football. They drop the ball someone picks it up, runs, gets Tackled, someone else gets the ball runs, repeat, or something along those lines haha. Another rule is that you can only throw the football backwards to your other teammates. I saw some pretty brutal tackles & can only imagine how much they hurt because rugby players don't wear any padding at all. I was surprised that the stadium we were in was actually smaller then ASU's football stadium. I guess you get a more intimate atmosphere that way. In the end I left wearing a Gold Coast Titans shirt (which is a nice pretty blue and gold) and WE WON! Yay! More games to come I am sure.

On Saturday we woke up at 7 which was a bit harsh considering I went to bed at 530 after being on Skype all night! We left and went to "Pancakes in Paradise" which is a really good breakfast place down in Surfers. I got the Eggs Benediction (which is a perfect name for it because I have an addiction to Eggs Benedict haha). However it was not as good as I am use to for two reasons:
1. The ham tastes different here, kidna odd
2. It was on a pancake instead of an english muffin.

It was interesting to try but I bet next time I go I will stick to a nice old fashion pancake. After the pancakes we went for a halway walk on the beach with our feet in the water. It still amazes me every time I go to the beach that I am walking on a beach in Australia. Priceless :)

After our walk on the beach we decided to head down to Australia fair which is basically our mall here. We went to this gorgeous salon and the three of us decided to get back, shoulder & Neck massages. They were a half hour long and absolutely amazing! We each were in our own separate room that was lit by candles and had ocean music playing. It was even more relaxing for me because as a child mom use to play ocean music for us to fall asleep. Made me feel like a child again. I definitely did not want it to end, but sadly it did!

Then that night we all participated in earth hour. It was from 8:30-9:30 P.M. and I am proud to say this is the second year I have participated in it. We sat with the lights off and unplugged everything right up to our microwaves and toasters. I want to put up a survey asking if you participated in earth hour, but am not to sure how to do it. I will have to mess around on the website.

Anyhow in general Saturday was just a nice relaxing day.

Sunday we went to Wet n' Wild. Originally we were going to take the bus there but considering the fact that I was the first one ready that shows you how late we were running. :P So instead we drove! This was a nice break from the entire bus system and can't wait for Kats license to work so we can start driving to more places soon!

We finished the weekend off by watching the way in of Biggest Loser & So You Think You Can Dance.

All in all nice, relaxing weekend. :)

I just added a few more pictures to Picasa, I believe they are in the Mardi Gra and February/March folders. Enjoy!!!

Nothing new in Aussie!

So it has been two weeks since I last posted anything and I gotta say not to much is new here. School has been fairly easy seeing as my assignments haven't even been due yet. I have just been going to lectures and enjoying my four day weekends!

Oh heres something most of you don't know! I tore all three legiments in my right hand! My heal got stuck to a stool and a fell forward and landed on my wrist. The doctor is having me wear a small brace thing but is also having me go back in two weeks to see if my wrist is getting better. Its hard to show it and make a picture look cute so here is my attempt hahah!

Today I missed the bus to school, it is the first time I have been able to say that since like grade school haha. On the bright side my teacher had said last week that this lecture wouldn't be all to important and if we missed the notes would be online.

On the downside my partner for my project was going to give me all her info so we could plan a time to meet this week to do our project. Now I have no clue how I will get a hold of her, so wish me luck on that aspect.

Anyhow I love & miss you all!!! More fun posts to come once I start to travel a bit!

Everything from School to Mardi Gras!

Hello, Hello!

So last week was my first week of school and I think I will really enjoy my classes. The teachers all seem really funny and also really laid back. I think I will also enjoy the subjects as I find them quite interesting. I only have class M/T/W so my schedule hasn't been to hard to deal with. That is all I really have to say about school seeing as the first week of classes nothing to interesting happens.

Now onto a more fun subject, Mardi Gras!!!! Beth, Austin, Brandon, Carly, Hannah and I all booked a trip with Extreme Adventures to go down to Sydney this past weekend so we could see how Sydney did Mardi Gras. It was a blast!

We took a twelve hour drive from Gold Coast all the way down to Sydney. It was just like a greyhound bus so it wasn't horrible but wasn't great either. Beth & I sat in the back and had the entire seat to ourselves up until the very last minute when three people who were running late got onto the bus. Then we had to squeeze 5 of us in the back and it was very squished. Since we were in the back the seats didn't decline and we could hardly move at all. We stayed awake for about three hours and then took some sleeping pills to knock ourselves out for the rest of the bus. (We got the sleeping pills from the Pharmacy and they are Australians version of Tylenol PM). Once we took those we put on our sleeping masks, and our ipods and headed to bed.

We arrived in Sydney on Friday morning at about 9 A.M. forgive me if I get all of the days confused. Friday morning we went to our Hostel took a shower, put our stuff away and changed and then we went to walk around Sydney. We saw a lot of places I didn't see my first trip to Sydney, and also a lot of places I had already been to. We walked SO much this trip it was rediculous. In total we walked about 5-7 hours. We went to the place where the Olympics were held, the Botanical Gardens, Opera House, Sydney Bridge and then we headed home.

However Beth & I stopped at Paddys Marketplace to shop around for some outfits for the cruise that night. The theme was Bright & Tight so we had total 80's in our mind for outfits. We each ended up getting a wig, hers pink & mine bright blue. The rest of my outfit consisted of a yellow shirt, black and pink skirt, white leggings and white sunglasses. It was a sexy outfit let me just tell ya!

After the market we got lost in Sydney. We were able to find out way back to our Hostel and then we took a nap. After our nap we got ready for our Cruise which took us around Sydney Harbour for four hours. It was open bar and they had Pizza Hut which was AMAZING because I hadn't had it since I left home. Man it was good.

The rest of the consisted of drinking wine to figure out that I don't care for wine all that much. I would have ordered some girly fruity drink but it was either beer, or wine so I tried wine.

The cruise was so much fun! I can officially say I have partied on Sydney Harbor. The view was gorgeous and it was a memory I will always have with me.
The next morning we woke up bright and early to go to the blue mountains. They were pretty but I expected so much more then what they actually were.

I shared a room with Austin (my roommate from home), Brandon (his friend), and Beth. There were two bunk beds and I was stuck on the top bed. Anyways, after the blue mountains we went back to our hostel to get ready for Mardi Gras! The first step in getting ready for Mardi Gras was taking a nap! :)

After our nap we got ready for the big night (My outfit was my blue wig, boah, white sunglasses, and a cheetah print dress.) We walked down to Mardi Gras and oh my was it packed! We had a decent spot but seeing over people was pretty hard. We bought these stool things to stand on so that we could see the parade. There was every type of float imaginable. Floats for parents and friends of Gays, Lesbians, etc all the way to the hardcore floats where I am not putting my pictures up to save Abigail s eyes. hahaha.

The Parade lasted about two and a half hours and we headed into a bar to let our feet rest. We had a pitcher of long island ice tea to share between us and it was my first time having one of those. It wasn't great, but wasn't horrible either. After that we decided to head back home through the messy streets.

Sunday morning we woke up and went on a tour of the beaches in Sydney. However bad weather still continues to follow us and our beach day quickly turned into a day of everyone running inside shops for cover.

After hanging around Bondi Beach for a while it was finally time to get on the bus. This time we were able to get seats in the front row which had more leg room, however we also had to deal with the headlights of oncoming traffic. I wasn't able to sleep much on this busride despite having took sleeping pills. I guess I was anxious to get home...and now here I am at home looking at my bed very excited to sleep in it tonight.

Now I am off to bed so I can be wide awake for my classes tomorrow. :)

New pictures are uploaded to Myspace, and Picasa.

Love you all!!!!!!
